HP Launches the Chromebook Pro c640 with 11th Gen Intel Power
HP’s Chromebook G2 series has always been aimed at business users and professionals. With the HP Pro c640, the company added a new entry to the lineup powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, along with upgraded security tools and better overall performance.
On the outside, the Pro c640 looks a lot like its predecessor. The changes are mostly under the hood, where the new processor makes everything faster and more responsive for day-to-day work.
Pricing starts at $419 for the base model, while the Enterprise edition goes for $569.

HP calls this the thinnest Chromebook on the market. It sports a 14-inch HD display, with an option to upgrade to a full HD panel. You can configure the HP Chromebook Pro c640 with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Our article on Apple claims to have lossless audio support on homepod covers related ground and is worth a look.
There’s also a touchscreen option available, which lets you interact with the Chromebook the same way you’d use a smartphone.
The Enterprise edition packs in extra features geared toward IT teams, including advanced security tools, admin management capabilities, and other professional-grade enhancements.
Build quality is strong here. The body is made from high-grade aluminum, and HP added a spill-resistant keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, and touch sensitivity.

Under the hood, the 11th Gen Intel processor is paired with Intel Iris X graphics. Battery life hits 12.5 hours on a full charge, which is a nice step up from older models.

Fast charging is another highlight. HP says the Pro c640 gets to 90% battery in under 90 minutes, giving you about 11 hours of use. Two battery options are available (45 Wh and 65 Wh), and both support fast charging.
The front-facing camera has an 88-degree field of view, and dual built-in microphones on either side make video calls and online meetings sound clear. If you spend a lot of your day on Zoom or Teams, you’ll appreciate that.
Connectivity-wise, the HP Pro c640 comes with Wi-Fi 6 and extended-range wireless LAN for fast, stable internet. You also get two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro SD card slot.
