How to Adjust Automatic Shutdown Timing On Nikon D5600?
When you are using a Nikon D5600, you can turn on the shooting mode to use the standby timer feature. It does not only help you to save battery life by shutting off the viewfinder and information display.
But, it also limits the review period for the image, the duration of live view display, duration of menus on screen and duration of an image in playback mode.
Here is how you can adjust the automatic shutdown timing on your Nikon D5600 camera:
Step 1: Open The Custom Setting Menu
You have to locate the custom setting menu on your Nikon D5600 first to adjust shutdown timing on your camera. After finding it, click on it to open the menu and proceed further.
Step 2: Choosing Timers/AE Lock Item
After selecting the custom setting menu, you have to click on the Timers/AE lock item on the menu.
After clicking on it, you will be able to see an option named ‘Auto Timers’ on your Nikon D5600 camera screen. You have to click on Auto Timers, and you will be able to see four options on your camera screen.
Step 3: Choosing Short
The first option that you will be able to see is called ‘short’. It is one of the shutdown times available on your Nikon D5600 camera.
The standby timer will affect the Live View and information display. The standby timer will be set to 4 seconds when you choose this option.
You will get the live review for about 5 minutes, and the image review will be set to 4 seconds. The playback will be set to 20 seconds. You have to click on this option to get the above settings.
Step 4: Choosing Normal
This option is the default setting for your Nikon D5600 camera. The standby camera will be set to 8 seconds.
The live view, along with image review, will be set to 10 minutes and 4 seconds respectively when you choose this option. The playback menu is set to 5 minutes with the Normal option in Auto timer settings.
Step 5: Choosing Long
This is the most extended duration option that you will get when you are adjusting your auto timer on your Nikon D5600 camera.
The standby timer is set to 1 minute when you choose this option.
The live view and the image review are set to 20 minutes and 20 seconds, which is way more than any other option presented above. The playback or menu will be there for around 10 minutes.
Step 6: Choosing Custom
This option allows you to personalize the delay time on your Nikon D5600 camera for different things.
You can select the different delay times for Live View, Playback or menu, image review, and standby timer while adjusting the timing on your camera.
Step 7: Disabling Image Review Completely
Instead of choosing all these options and different delay times for image review, you can choose to disable the image review on your Nikon D5600 camera completely.
To do so, you have to head back to the playback menu and choose the image review option. You have to change the settings and set the item for image review off.
