This page explains how TechnoWifi decides what to publish, how facts are checked, what the dates on a page mean, and what happens when something is wrong. It applies to every guide, comparison and tool on the site.
Sources
Every guide is built from primary sources: manufacturer manuals and support pages, carrier terms and fee schedules, published specifications, regulator filings where they exist, and our own devices and accounts where we have them. Reader reports and forum threads are used only to decide what to investigate, never as the source of a fact. Where a guide cites reports from other users rather than something we verified, it says so in the sentence.
Sources are listed at the end of the article. A claim we could not trace to a source does not go on the page.
Verification before publishing
Before a guide is published, each factual claim in it is checked against the source it came from: menu paths against the current version of the software, prices and fees against the provider’s own page, specifications against the manufacturer’s sheet. Guides about a specific device name the model and the software version they were checked on.
Re-verification and the “last checked” date
Facts on this site expire. Menus move, fees rise, promotions end. Published guides are re-checked on a schedule, and the “last checked” date shown on a page is the date of the most recent pass. When a check finds that something changed, the page is corrected and the date is updated. A page without a date has not been through a scheduled re-check since it was published.
Internet provider pages carry a separate line stating when pricing, speeds and availability were last verified, together with an update history listing what changed on each pass.
First-hand experience
Where an article draws on something we own or use, such as our own Verizon account or the cameras in our own home, the article says so in the text. Our tools are built from real data: the Phone Bill Decoder from real carrier bills and the carriers’ published terms, the ISP Coverage Checker from public coverage data. Both run in your browser and send nothing to us.
Who writes and who reviews
Guides are published under the TechnoWifi Editorial byline. The founder and editor-in-chief, Ugur Gulaydin, sets what is covered and reviews every guide before it publishes. His background is in IT: an MBA in Information Systems Management, CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, and years as an IT technician and consultant, which is why networking and provider coverage is the core of the site. Contributors are listed on the Editorial Team page with what they cover.
Corrections
If a page is wrong, out of date, or does not match what you see on your own device or bill, tell us through the contact page. Every report is checked against the source. If the page was wrong, it is corrected and material corrections are noted on the page. If the source changed, the page is updated and the “last checked” date moves.
Money
TechnoWifi earns from display advertising served by Mediavine and from affiliate links through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and the Walmart Affiliate Program. Affiliate links do not decide what is recommended; the same products are named whether or not a commission is involved. We do not publish sponsored posts, and we do not accept payment, products or other incentives from vendors in exchange for coverage.
What we will not do
We do not invent testing we did not perform. We do not attribute quotes or results to people who did not produce them. We do not rank products by what they pay.
