Getting started with the SQ11 spy camera

Before you set up and install the SQ11, charge the battery fully. The camera has a built-in lithium-ion battery that charges through the USB port on a PC or a portable 5V charger.
While charging, both the blue and red LEDs will blink continuously. When the battery is fully charged, the red LED turns off and only the blue LED keeps blinking.

Setting the time and date

First, connect the SQ11 spy camera to your computer. To set the date and time, create a text file called “TIMERSET.txt” in the memory card’s root directory. Use this format:
“YYYYMMDDHHMMSS” “Y” (or “N” if you don’t want the date and time stamp on your photos or videos)

For example: “20170625140003 Y”

After saving the file, disconnect the camera from the computer and power it on again. The date and time you chose will now show up on every video or photo.

Video recording with the SQ11 spy camera

Capturing video in 1280x720P resolution

Press the “On/Off” button to power the camera on. The blue LED will light up, and the camera enters 720p video recording standby mode.
Press the power button, and the blue LED will blink three times as it starts recording in 720p. Videos are automatically saved every five minutes. To stop recording, press the power button again.

Capturing video in 1920x1080P resolution

Press the power button to turn on the SQ11 spy camera. The blue LED light will blink continuously.
Press the “Mode button” once to switch into 1080p video capture mode. Both the red and blue LED lights will flash at the same time.

The camera is now in 1080p video recording standby mode.

To start recording, press the power button once. The blue LED will turn off, and the red LED will blink three times.

Videos are automatically saved every 5 minutes. To stop recording, press the power button again.

Motion sensor video recording

To start motion sensor recording (from either the 720p or 1080p standby mode), press and hold the Mode button for 3 seconds.
The camera will switch to motion sensor recording mode.

When any motion is detected, recording starts automatically, with both the red and blue LED lights flashing at the same time. Videos in this mode are automatically saved every 5 minutes.

Capturing photos

Turn on the camera using the power button and the blue LED will light up. Press the Mode button twice to enter photograph mode, and the red LED will flash.
To take a photo, press the power button once. The red LED will flash again, confirming that the photo has been saved.

Capturing photos at night

Press the power button to turn on the camera. Then, press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds to activate night illumination. The red LED will light up to confirm it’s on.
To turn off night illumination, press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds. The red LED will flash three times to confirm it’s turned off.

Viewing images and video files

Connect the SQ11 spy camera to a computer, and it’ll show up as a removable disk within seconds. The blue LED indicates file transfer, while the red LED indicates the battery is charging.
