Connecting Canon 80D to computer via USB

Step 1.

Always remember to turn off your Canon 80D digital camera while connecting to a computer. Connect one end of the USB cable to the top port of your camera and the other to the USB port of your computer.

Some of your photos and videos will be large, so using a 480 Mbps USB cable would be the most reliable option.

Step 2.

Turn on your camera. Allow the driver some time to install on the computer or laptop. Be patient. It may take some time to download the driver.

Step 3.

Once the driver is downloaded, you will see a pop-up window on your screen asking what you want to do with the device once the drivers are installed.

This means your driver installation is successful, and you are ready to dump the photographs.

Step 4.

Now ‘double click on the My Computer. You will see the icon of the driver installed.

Step 5.

Double Click on the SD card option once you enter the folder of the camera.

You will see the camera storage folder on your screen. You can rename the folder by whatever name or number your desire. Double-click on the storage folder.

These digital cameras have a folder by the name of DCIM. There may be a sub-folder within the basic folder where you will find the photographs.

For example “80DCAANON”.    Start downloading the photographs on your PC or laptop and share the clicks with friends on social media platforms.

Connecting Canon 80D to a computer via WiFi

Step 1.

Connect your computer to the WiFi.

Step 2.

Open the menu box on your Canon 80D camera and click the Wireless

Communication Setting.

Step 3.

Press WiFi NFC option to Enable

Press WiFi Function and open the pop box with a computer icon.

Step 4.

Press the easy connection’ option on Connect the camera directly to drive.

Step 5.

Select the folder name in which you have stored the photographs.   Now, drop down the WiFi option on your computer and start downloading. The rest of the procedure is the same as with a USB cable.

The essential requirement is a USB cable that has been supplied with the accessories.
