How to Activate Siri on iPhone XR
Siri is a nifty feature that makes your experience with your iPhone, seamless. If you have recently upgraded to a newer version of the iPhone i.e iPhone XR and, for some reason, did not activate Siri during the set-up process, or have accidentally disabled or found your Siri microphone not working, then it can be quite frustrating.
However, you can get your Siri back up and running in no time at all with a few easy steps.
Activating Siri On Your iPhone XR:
You can access Siri either with a voice command or by pressing the side button. Here is how you can ensure that you can use Siri on your iPhone:
Go to the Settings app on your iPhone and scroll until you locate the “Siri & Search” option.
Click on the option and head to the Ask Siri section.
Here you will find an option that says “ Listen for ‘Hey Siri’ ” which you can activate to access Siri using voice command, or you can activate the “Press Side Button for Siri” option if you prefer not to use voice commands, or you can activate both.
If this is the first time that you are activating Siri on your phone, then you will have to click on the enable Siri option to ensure that Siri is activated.
If you opt for activating Siri using voice command, then Siri will familiarize itself with your voice by asking you to repeat a few routine commands out loud.
After the voice recognition process is done, you can select the “Done” option to finish activating Siri.
You can also activate the Type to Siri option so that you can type in your commands to Siri after it has been activated if you prefer not to voice commands out loud; by turning on this feature, you will be able to use voice commands as well as type to Siri when you are in a crowded area or whenever you do not feel like voicing commands out loud.
Exit the Settings app and test out Siri by either using the voice command or by pressing the Side Button.
After Siri has been activated, you can go back to the Home Screen by swiping up from the very bottom of your screen, or you can say or type “Bye Siri.”
Getting used to using Siri without the precious home button can be a bit of a challenge.
Since Siri can easily be activated by pressing the Side (or Power) Button for a little too long, you need to be careful about how you handle your phone as Siri can get activated by accident quite frequently.
However, Siri is a useful feature, and with the new iOS 12 update, you can now get a lot more done thanks to Siri.
